Question: Is it alright to take your resumes to a sky box party?
Sam had been invited by a friend to his employer’s sky box party on Sunday. He said there would be a lot of employers and company owners attending. If someone asked what he did he could always give them a resume. After all I had said in a previous show that social events were great places to network.
My response:There is a big difference between a Memorial Day Barbecue and a sky box party. It was not appropriate to take resumes. However, if someone asks what you do you could give them a Personal ID card. Don’t initiate a conversation about your job search unless you have been asked. The Host of the event has invited a select group of individuals for his own business purposes.
